Onward to the techniques!

This is one of the most popular of all the acupressure points to induce labor, because it is so reliable and effective at jumpstarting the birthing process. Located in the webbing between your thumb and forefinger on each hand, all you really need to do is gently pinch and motion circularly around while holding the skin together for a few minutes at a time. While you can effectively use this technique on any area of the webbing, there will be a small tender area that is the real sweet spot and can speed things up dramatically.

Three Yin Crossing

Just a few inches above the ankle and on the inside of your leg, this is another one of the acupressure points to induce labor that you can manipulate all on your own, so long as you’re comfortable. There will be a small tender area just like with the technique above, although this one will be considerably larger. What you’re going to look to do here is apply gentle and consistent pressure to this area for as long as you can manage, then resting and repeating as needed.

The Shoulder Well

The spot where your neck and shoulder connect on the back of your body holds one of the best acupressure points to induce labor – it’s called the Shoulder Well. Located on the far side of you trapezius muscle, you’re again looking for a silver dollar sized or larger tender spot to apply intermittent pressure to. Five seconds on and two seconds off seems to work wonders for many women, but you can try different timings to get the best results for your particular body.
